Top 10 Bollywood White Wedding Moments

If you didn’t already know, white weddings have become increasingly popular in Bollywood as well. When we say white weddings, we mean a white wedding gown in a church or the traditional Christian style nuptials. As much as we love to see our favourite Bollywood stars in their colourful Indian attire and beautiful Indian bridal lehengas, it is quite exciting to see an occasional western style church wedding featured in the movies. In this blog we are going to list our top 10 Bollywood White Wedding moments and your favorite Bollywood beauties in white wedding gowns. Has your favourite made the cut? 1. Bride and Prejudice 2004

In 2004’s  famous ‘Bride and Prejudice’, which had an amazing cast of actors, Aishwarya Rai Bachan was spotted wearing a beautiful white ballgown style wedding dress in her dream. The movie was a Bollywood take on the famous novel by Jane Austin, and did very well in the box office. 

2. Namastey London  2007

No stranger to white weddings, Katrina Kaif is seen on numerous occasions wearing a white wedding dress. ‘Namastey London’ is one of her most loved movies of all time. Katrina played the role of a young Britsh-Indian woman who is forced to marry Akshay Kumar’s character on a trip to India. The costume designers were spot on for her look in the movie as she wore classic satin strapless gown and accessorized it with just a veil and a bouquet, not taking away any attention from her natural beauty.

3. Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara 2011

In the film ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’, Katrina Kaif plays an Anglo-Indian character, Laila. In the film the final sequence sees Katrina marrying Arjun (Hrithik Roshan). The actress is wearing a simple yet elegant, floor length white gown with a flower wreath on her head.

4. Saat Khoon Maaf 2011

In one of Priyanka Chopra Jonas’ multiple weddings in this dark film, she marries Jimmy (John Abraham) in a long-sleeved white wedding dress with floral detailing. It is accentuated by tiny pearls and shimmer. The gown was paired with a lace trimmed veil which completed her look. 5. Finding Fanny 2014

Deepika Padukone was seen wearing a very traditional white lace wedding gown in 2014’s ‘Finding Fanny’. The film takes you through a road trip to Goa, which is one of the popular destinations for white weddings in India.

6. Entertainment 2014

Tamannaah Bhatia captures people’s hearts in this heartwarming 2014 film called ‘Entertainment’, alongside Akshay Kumar. She is seen in a white wedding dress in the popular poster of the film. 

7. Bharat 2019

Another movie with Katrina Kaif in a wedding gown and we’re still not complaining! It was Katrina’s co-star Salman Khan’s personal stylist Ashley Rebello , who designed Katrina Kaif’s beautiful white bridal gown for the Catholic wedding sequence in the movie. This gown had a perfect balance of contemporary, yet classic elements with a ballgown silhouette and an elegant illusion neckline.

8. Priyanka Chopra Jonas

This oh so popular wedding in 2018 was the talk of the town. It was the perfect East meets West wedding that got eyes turning from around the world. Priyanka Chopra married famous Pop sensation Nick Jonas at the grand Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur, having both Hindu and Christian ceremonies. Priyanka’s white wedding gown designed by Ralph Lauren, caught eyes, as it probably set the record for having the longest train ever! 

9. Asin

Actress Asin Married Micromax owner Rahul Sharma in 2016, after being introduced to each other by none other than Bollywood’s own Akshay Kumar who was the best man at the wedding. Asin wore a simplistic yet classy gown by Vera Wang, with a gorgeous veil to compliment it.

Popular for her role in Karan Johar’s ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’, Lisa Haydon is an Indian/Australian model and actress who is. Lisa got married in 2016 to Dino Lalvani on a beach in Thailand. We had to feature her stunning one shoulder dress in this list of Bollywood white wedding moments. She paired it with an elegant hair piece and a long veil.
